An ode to WB
I havent been on this page for a long time. A year the last post tells me. There must be something about the month of April that makes me want to post.
But, today's post was based on an article I read in the Mint today. It quoted Tagore's poem 'Where the mind is without fear' and proceeded to provide an alternate that is WB (not to mention the rest of the country too).
And as I read that, I was forming my own poem in my head.
Where the mind is full of fear and the head is forever cowering
Where knowledge is in the hands of a few who make sure that no one else has access
Where the world is about us and them
And forever trying to form an us so there is a them
Where words have more to them than what they mean
Where tireless striving is only to hide your true face
Where logic and reason have no meaning
And laws are based on what would accrue power
Where the only thought in the mind
Is to quell any voice against the majority view
Into that cesspool of madness my country has already fallen
