NAMESAKE, SOMEPLACE ELSE AND NOSTALGIA
Saw the Namesake! Nice movie! Transports me back in time and makes me look at the future at the same time. It is more about loving your family than a certain Bollywood movie with the same tag line and a story about nonsensical, escapist crap with a sprinkling of the letter K. No person who has left his (or her) house and gone away be it beyond the borders of the country or just beyond the borders of the state can stand up and say he/she cannot be affected by it. Like the movie says – the greatest journeys are the ones where you are coming home. Faraway parents and siblings, innumerable phone calls, some missed, some neglected, some answered, thoughts of well being, almost forgotten anniversaries/birthdays characterize any of these far away relationships. The little things which mean a lot which keeps the LONLINESS away. Makes the survival system that people build anew in their new lives all the more important but then again not at the cost of existing relationships is it? But then l...
